What are metal detectable plasters?

Blue metal detectable plasters contain a special aluminium strip which allows metal detectors to pick it up on the production line. This helps prevent contamination. New legislation has been put in place to help prevent contaminated products to be sent out to the public. Metal detectable plasters forms a very important part of this.

What are metal detectable plasters made of?

Blue metal detectable plasters come in different shapes and sizes and are made of different materials to best suit your needs.

A few of the materials that metal detectable plasters come in are:

  • Washproof PE
  • Washproof and Elastic PU
  • 2nd Skin textile material
  • Elastic textile material

A strong hypo-allergenic adhesive strip is added to help keep them in place.

For metal detection a aluminium strip is added inside the plaster.

Metal detectable blue plasters contain an absorbent wound pad and is then finished off with a non adherent wound contact layer.
